Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Notable collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Notable you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
Notable (“Notable”, “we”, “us”) is an SEO and AI search visibility platform operated by Team Empathy Limited, based in Auckland, New Zealand. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. For any privacy question you can reach us at hello@notableaisearch.com. Team Empathy Limited acts as the data controller for the information described below.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account information. Your name and email address when you sign up or sign in (including via Google).
- Project and content data. The websites, brand information, keywords, and content you add or generate inside the platform.
- Connected accounts. When you connect Google Search Console, or a publishing destination such as Shopify, WordPress or Wix, we store the access tokens needed to read your search data or publish on your behalf. On Shopify we request only the permissions needed to read and write store content (blog articles and pages), never customer or order data. Tokens are encrypted at rest.
- Billing information. Notable is a managed service, so your engagement is agreed and invoiced directly and we hold the billing contact and company details needed to raise that invoice. We never see or store your card details.
- Usage and technical data. Log data, IP address, browser type, and actions taken in the app, used for security, rate limiting, and improving the product.
- Public audit submissions. If you run the free AI visibility audit, we store the domain you submit and, if you provide it, your email address.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the platform and its features.
- To generate content, run AI visibility scans, and produce reports you request.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send transactional email such as sign-in links, reports, and account notices.
- To protect the service against abuse, fraud, and security threats.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your private project content to train our own models.
Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect our forms from abuse. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though you will not be able to sign in without the essential ones. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.
Google user data
When you connect Google, Notable requests read-only access to one Google service:
- Google Search Console (
webmasters.readonly), to read your site's search performance (clicks, impressions, queries, and pages) so we can show it in your dashboard, find content and keyword opportunities, and build the reports you request.
This access is read-only: Notable never writes to, or changes, your Google data. We store the OAuth tokens needed to read this data, encrypted at rest, and you can disconnect Google at any time from Settings, which revokes our access.
Notable's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell or transfer it, we do not use it to train generalized AI or machine-learning models, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your explicit consent, where necessary for security or to comply with applicable law, or as part of aggregated, anonymized operations.
Service providers (subprocessors)
We share data with a small set of trusted providers that help us run Notable. Each processes data only as needed to deliver its part of the service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Neon | Database hosting (your account and project data) |
| Vercel | Application hosting and delivery |
| Cloudflare | DNS, content delivery, and bot protection (Turnstile) |
| Upstash | Rate limiting |
| Resend | Transactional and notification email |
| Anthropic (Claude) | AI content generation and brand analysis |
| OpenAI (ChatGPT) | AI search visibility scans |
| Sign-in, Search Console data, and Gemini AI scans | |
| Perplexity | AI search visibility scans |
| DataForSEO | Keyword and search results data |
| Pexels | Stock imagery for generated articles |
When you run an AI visibility scan, the prompts we send to these AI providers may include your brand name and public domain. We do not send them your private account credentials.
Data retention
We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, or accounting reasons. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, encryption of sensitive tokens at rest, access controls, and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you if a breach affects you.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@notableaisearch.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
International transfers
Notable and its providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Children
Notable is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app.
